LGBT Groups in the north of Scotland
The Highland LGBT Forum is a group of volunteers drawn from the LGBT community. It is independent from any other organisations and aims to organise a variety of events for the local LGBT community where everyone is welcome.
This page aims to be an informative list of groups within the north of Scotland which serve the LGBT community. This includes details of groups and events which are not connected to or organised by the Highland LGBT Forum.
The following groups meet in Inverness offering support and/or social contact:
- Pillar LGBT Youth Group in Inverness (for 13 - 25 year olds). Contact LGBT Youth Scotland.
- Highland Rainbow Folk is an independent group of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender volunteers, working to raise awareness of issues facing older LGBT people in the North of Scotland.
- Swans (transgender / transvestite / transexual) is an independent group which meets at the Beaufort Hotel in Inverness on the last Thursday of the month
- Highland Hearts is is a social group for LBTI (Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex) women based in the Inverness area.
LGBT Moray Youth for under 18s has a Facebook page.
The North Highlands LGBT Social Group is a social group for people who are living in or visiting Caithness or the Highland and Islands. The group was established in April 2013 following an Equality Network & Highland LGBT Forum roadshow.
